ENGAGEMENT ACTIVITIES:

COSTUMED LIFE DRAWING WORKSHOP

This workshop fuses innovative costume design from new work You Can Take Me Home Toni and the moving body to inspire your drawing creations! Combining elements of costume, performance and movement, you will explore the human figure as it is both revealed and concealed by the wearable art.

MEMORY COLLAGING WORKSHOP

Explore your past memories by collaging with old photos and other paper based memorabilia. Inspired by the 80s zine collaging technique, you will create 2D and 3D paper art to reconnect with your past in fun, liberating, and experimental way.

EXPLORING COSTUMED PERFORMANCE WORKSHOP

This workshop will introduce you to the inspiring world of costume performance. Performance maker Lorraine Smith will guide you through exercises and creative tasks to experience how costume can impact both performer and maker. This will include exploring the somatic nature of costume and how design choices can change how you feel, move and interact with others, and encourage a breaking of habitual movement, exploration of identity and the creation of engaging characters.

MY MUSIC IDOL WORKSHOP

Participants will be guided to use their favourite pop/music icon to explore their memories and identity(ies) through discussion and creative tasks. Participants will be supported to express themselves creatively using relevant art forms dependent on group type (i.e., creative writing/lyrics, collaging, album cover making, movement, performance, etc.), to deepen their understanding of how our icons can empower us to embrace who we are and make positive changes to our lives.
